Grace Darling to those who knew her had a sweet, amiable nature and pretty face to match. She was a feminine, tall, willowy hound with lovely movement and a keen prey drive. A very popular hound, who was loved by all who met her. Like all the dogs here, she prefered to be in the house pretending she was human, rather than outside playing. Her favourite place being on the sofa snuggled up next to you or even better if she could wriggle her way onto your knee. Her favourite pastime was chasing rabbits, but unfortunately she chased them and then forgot to come home, so she didn't get the opportunity as much as she would have liked.

In 2004 Grace Darling only attended one CH SH and qualified for CRUFTS 2005!

At CRUFTS 2005 we were delighted when she was placed second in her class, it was only her second big show and only her third time out. Following Crufts 2005 Grace remained out of the show ring to allow her time to mature and settle.

Grace was the dam of our Szarowski litter, who all inherited her sweet nature. Thankfully we have Ronnie Rovski, Qwincy and Zara who are her double in nature and character, so she will live on at SKYRA.

A big thank you to Sue Roome, MABLESHOUNDS kennels for her friendship, help and support with the Borzoi and for letting Grace Darling join SKYRA Wolfhounds.

Sadly Grace Darling died suddenly one night of gastric torsion, whilst we were at the Belfast Show. She had been fine last thing in the evening, but was found collapsed dead in the kennel early the following morning.

We will miss her greatly.
Sometimes the best dog is not necessarily the greatest achiever in the show ring.
She was two and a half years old.
The good die young!
