Known to us all as Barney Rubble, he is an absolute darling just like his Dad. A very gentle, loving and friendly soul, who prefers to be in the house with humans, rather than outside with the dogs. His favourite pastime appears to be "singing" along whenever anyone plays the piano. He is very vocal and will sit and have major conversations with humans. He is tall, handsome and houndy, a self fawn, standing 31 inches at the shoulder at 8 months old. Barney will certainly give Slim a run for his money in the future.

At his first show, the Newmarket & District Canine Society 2 day show, Barney delighted us by winning 1st in the Any Variety Puppy class (all breeds) still aged only 7 months. Barney then surprised us at his second show, the Bakewell 2 Day Open Show, by beating his father to win Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Breed, whilst still only 9 months old.

At the Leeds Championship Show and the Houndshow he was placed 2nd in the Borzoi Puppy Dog class. He followed this at the City of Birmingham Championship Show by being placed 1st in the Borzoi Junior Dog class at only 10 months old. He has been placed every time out, but is being shown only lightly until he has matured and settled down more.

This show year has started well for Barney with a placing of first in his class at two Open shows and gaining one Best of Breed. Barney was shown only lightly throughout 2006 but was consistently placed, with a number of firsts, Best of Breed and Group placings. Again, we will be showing Barney only very lightly throughout 2007, to allow him time to continue to mature.

Barney managed to pass his Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Bronze Award at the Manchester Championship Show, a major achievement for him especially at such a large noisy show.

Barney first qualified for Crufts at the age of 8 months old.
